NETPACT to present award in Iran’s Khorshid filmfest

The NETPAC award has been set to be granted at the 7th edition of the Khorshid Independent Film Festival in Iran.

The Khorshid festival and Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema (NETPAC) agreed to endow the award at the 2019 edition of the festival, slated for October in Tehran.

The jury panel will give the award to the best film of the new Asia/Pacific directors participating at the event.

The Khorshid, from now on, will annually present the winners with the NETPAC award.

The award-winning films and their cast and crew have the chance to be introduced to the international audience through NETPAC’s members, platforms, media, and website.

The Khorshid and its secretary Mehdi Yarmohammadi have joined the NETPAC.

The international jury members who are from Asia and Europe will be announced later.

Established in 1990 in New Delhi, the NETPAC is aimed to promote a greater understanding of Asian films and filmmakers.

So far, the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film has been presented at some 30 film festivals throughout the world, including the events in Berlin, Rotterdam, Warsaw, Moscow, Jeonju, Busan and Hawaii.
